Meet Kaylie: Brand Manager

Kaylie joined our team November of 2019. She has since led the rebrand of our store & our online presence. Read on to get to her better below:

How long have you been with Oz’s Jewelers? 

I’ve been at Oz’s for about 5 years now. I started with working on the sales floor & with creative projects. Now I am the brand manager for the store, working to refine & showcase our image. 

Tell us more about your professional background.

I've studied both graphic design & fine art, & I graduated with a Bachelor's in Fine Art with an emphasis in painting from Appalachian State University. I've worked with multiple small businesses on branding & design work in Hickory & the surrounding areas.

Why is branding important to you? 

Branding tells the story of who a business is. The visual design of a business is the first thing a current or potential customer will see, therefore it’s important to capture interest & communicate who we are as a store. 

What’s your jewelry philosophy? 

My philosophy is to invest in quality pieces that speak to who I am. It’s just as important to me that my pieces will last through my lifetime as it is that they reflect my personal taste. 

You’re also an owner of Bisque Boutique, located on Union Square. Can you tell us about it?

Absolutely! Bisque Boutique will be opening this October! It's a creative space where you can paint your own pottery. We'll also host art classes & workshops throughout the year for both adults & children. In addition, we have a shop that carries an array of gifts & works created by local artisans. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry you already own? 

My favorite piece in my jewelry collection (besides my engagement ring, but that’s every woman’s favorite) is a pair of handcrafted artisan leaf earrings that my husband bought me spur of the moment on a day trip! They’re my go-to: simple, yet eye-catching! 

Any OZ’S pieces you have your eye on? 

Yes, several! There's a yellow gold pair of lab diamond hoops that are on the top of my list, as well a gold band. They’re simple, lovely everyday pieces that I hope to add to my jewelry collection.
